Art Collection

At Far East Organization, we believe that art enriches the public landscape, inspires and connects. It amplifies the engagement with the community through our properties and assets by enhancing the overall space and experience. That is why we are committed to inspire better lives by making art more accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds through a variety of ways.

A large part of our art collection is by local artists. We appreciate their perspectives in these creations, which often mirror Singapore’s social and economic progress whilst remaining deeply rooted in the rich local traditions and history. These artworks can also capture the soul of a place and the spirit of a community.

One of Far East Organization’s first public artworks, placed in front of its commercial property along Orchard Road in 1980 and relocated to Gardens by the Bay in 2021, was the Mother and Child sculpture by well-known local sculptor and winner of the Cultural Medallion in visual arts, Mr Ng Eng Teng. The government incentive scheme introduced in 2005 led Far East Organization into its first foray in acquiring and commissioning public artworks on an extensive scale at Orchard Central.

Our belief in how artworks can elevate the quality and experience of spaces continues today, with unique pieces incorporated into the public spaces of our latest developments.

Art Competition
Inaugurated in 2021, MILL is a design competition that reflects the granular, holistic nature of the Holland Village precinct — an eclectic enclave formed and shaped by old and new, local and global. Participants were invited to express their personal anecdotes, memories and the unique personalities of Holland Village through the design of a public art bench. The five winning public designs are placed within the Organization’s One Holland Village development.

Art Sponsorship (click to learn more)
A gift was made to National Gallery Singapore towards the Gallery’s research, curatorial and exhibition work, with a focus on outdoor presentations of commissioned art. The Gallery’s roof garden exhibition space, named Ng Teng Fong Roof Garden Gallery, showcases an annual Ng Teng Fong Roof Garden Commission series.
